"I thought Astro Tables was the best until I bought PrimeTimes. Anybody who
doesn't use it is really missing out." Dave DeBolt, IA (professional guide)
"Since using PrimeTimes to set our tournament schedules for the past two
years, our results have almost doubled." Dennis Alexander, TX
Astro Tables 2000 truly is the best "moon table" there ever was. But that's
the problem...it's a moon table. And moon tables show
only the lunar times each day, none of the solar. That's a problem, because
most of the time a solar period is better than a lunar one!
With PrimeTimes, on the other hand, you are shown both solar and
lunar periods each day. And with its graphic peaks-and-valleys format, it's
very easy to quickly determine which period is the best, second best,
third best, and so on.
"PrimeTimes is the best chart I have ever had the pleasure to use. I've
found it to be extremely accurate." C. W. Collins, IL
"Since I started using PrimeTimes two years ago my fishing has improved
dramatically and I'm wasting less time." Walt Hanline, MO
Using our Astro Tables this day,
you'd key on the two lunar times: 9:04 - 11:15 a.m.
("Moon Overhead") and 9:34 - 11:45 p.m.
("Moon Underfoot"). Good times to go, yes.
But as you can see in the corresponding PrimeTimes sample, you'd miss the
best time of all...plus the 3rd and 4th best!
This is clearly illustrated by the green numbers we've placed on each of the six
potential periods this day...listing them in order of their "strength (the
taller the "peak," the stronger the period). 1) Dawn is your best bet, followed
by 2) the Moon Overhead period, then 3) High Noon (which is the Sun Overhead),
then 4) Dusk, 5) Moon Underfoot, and 6) Mid-night (Sun Underfoot).
So, using Astro Tables 2000 or some other "moon table" today,
you'd be out there during the 2nd and 5th best periods, while missing the 1st,
3rd, 4th, and 6th! Any wonder why those who use PrimeTimes, never go back
to their old one? It truly will get you more and better fish/game in less time.
"PrimeTimes is much more accurate than two other systems
I've tried."
Lyman Winkley, IN
"I have every moon table available. This is the most complete chart I have
seen to date." Lew Cazes, LA

A FEW MORE THINGS ON PRIMETIMES VS. ASTRO TABLES
(In case you're still not convinced)
So, why doesn't Astro Tables show the solar periods, too?
This answer is going to surprise you. It's also going to show you why only
a handful of America's outdoorspeople have the inside scoop on the best time
to go each day.
Astro Tables doesn't show the solar periods because the average outdoorsman
doesn't want it! It's true. We've experimented with
various Astro Tables formats over the past 14 years, (mostly through our
flagship magazine, BassMaster) trying all kinds of ways to show both solar
and lunar periods…even lining them up numerically in order of importance for
each day. But every time, a few readers would write in to say they
liked the old format better. That always makes editors nervous, so we'd
go back to giving them just the lunar times.
It's difficult for us to provide data we know is incomplete. But if we didn't
give the reader what he wants (even if it's not what we know he needs), we'd
go out of business. At least we know Astro Tables is better than the other
moon tables. And it's certainly better than no tables at all.
PrimeTimes caters to the more experienced angler and hunter
The guides, the pros, the folks who take their
sport very seriously, all know about the sun's vital role in determining the
best times to go. Those that have stumbled across PrimeTimes (we've never
paid to advertise it) buy it, love it, and buy it again the next year. In fact,
so many ask to have PrimeTimes automatically sent to them each year that we
started a Special Mailing List. Our renewal rate is phenomenal.
